Valerie has extensive experience representing major corporations, financial institutions, hedge funds and private equity sponsors in the acquisition financings, secured and unsecured bank financings, mezzanine financings, second-lien financings, asset-based loans, restructurings and DIP and exit facilities. She has been involved in representing clients in a wide range of industries, with a particular focus on the fashion, retail and luxury brand sectors. Valerie’s representations include matters for MacAndrews & Forbes, Michael Kors Holdings Ltd., Ralph Lauren, Revlon, Silver Point Capital L.P., Time Warner Cable, and Wendy’s.
Valerie is a member of the Global Advisory Board of Women in Law Empowerment Forum, an organization dedicated to the advancement of women in law, and also sits on the Thomson Reuters Women’s Transformative Leadership Advisory Board. Recently, Valerie was profiled in LEADERS magazine's "Women Leaders” January 2018 edition. In 2017, she was featured in Crain’s New York Business’ inaugural list of "Leading Women Lawyers" in New York City and was recognized by Euromoney Legal Media Group in the “Best in Corporate Governance” category of its Americas Women in Business Law Awards. 2018 Who’s Who Legal recognized Valerie in its Banking category for her finance practice and “for her superb work handling a range of related matters across the banking sector.” Until recently, she served on the Advisory Board of Fashion, Arts, Media & Entertainment Center at Cardozo School of Law and is the co-author of the Fashion Finance chapter in Fashion Law: A Guide for Designers, Fashion Executives and Attorneys, second edition (2014). She is a member of the 30% Club and a member of the Center for Talent and Innovation. Valerie is also a member of the Northeast Board of Directors of the Israel Tennis Centers Foundations.
Valerie earned her B.A. from Brandeis University, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from New York University School of Law.
